My Favorite Things - Social Skills Group
What better way to learn turn-taking, waiting, and making choices than at an ice cream parlor! Participants will practice identifying their preferences, verbalizing the reasons for their choices, and learn ways to remain polite when learning about the preferences and differences of peers. During the last hour, participants will taste test a new flavor, then order their own ice cream and engage in a fun game with peers while enjoying their treat.
Skills targeted during this group:
- Verbally and non-verbally communicating likes & dislikes
- Respectfully tolerating others' preferences
- Verbal self-advocacy for personal preferences
- Perspective taking of peers
- Turn taking, waiting, and tolerating delays
- Trying new things, including new healthy (& unhealthy) snacks and treats
- Providing a brief explanation about personal thoughts & feelings

SENSESational Design Lab
in partnership with
IceCream Taco & Kituuma and Co. SYM Workshops
Come participate in a hands-on STEAM+E workshop for kids to explore design thinking by building their own sensory toys! Hosted by Kituuma & Co. and IceCreamTaco in West Columbia, SC.
During lunch, learn more about what it means to work as an Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) professional. Pay $10 for a lunch from IceCream Taco, or bring your own lunch.
